SFERS would like to offer our deepest sympathies to the families and residents affected by the devastating wildfires affecting California’s North Bay region.
Retired members affected by the wildfires should contact SFERS if their benefit checks cannot be mailed to their home. Please contact our Member Services Team to make other arrangements: by phone (415-487-7039) or by email ([email protected]).
The United States Postal Service has issued a service disruption alert (https://about.usps.com/news/service-alerts/resident-weather-updates.htm) for the California wildfires with a list of post offices that are currently closed, as well as the alternative location to pick up your mail. If your local post office is still open you can pick up your mail at that location.
Members in the affected area using direct deposit will continue to receive their benefit checks electronically.
