Work After Retirement

Generally, if you retire from the City and County of San Francisco (CCSF) or a member employer, you may return to work for any employer other than CCSF or a member employer without affecting your benefits.

However, if you choose to return to work for CCSF or a member employer after retirement, you may only work up to a maximum of 960 hours in any fiscal year before your benefits are affected. For more information on “return to work” provisions, please see your Summary of Key Plan Provisions.

Charter provisions may restrict your ability to work for any employer while receiving a disability retirement benefit.
