In accordance with a “Shelter in Place” Order from the City’s Public Health Officer issued on March 16, 2020, SFERS’ office is closed effective immediately and continuing through April 7, 2020. During this time, SFERS is employing the following actions:
- Our highest priority is to ensure that our retirees continue to be paid on time. Retirement checks will be mailed and/or deposited on the normal payment date (SFERS Retiree Payment Calendar)
- Retirement appointments will be conducted by telephone. If you have an appointment scheduled within this period, someone from our office will contact you to make arrangements
- New members will be enrolled by mail. Contact us after April 7, 2020, to request a New Member Enrollment packet.

The Path to Retirement Seminar scheduled on April 8, 2020, is cancelled. The next available seminar is scheduled on May 7, 2020. You may reschedule to the May seminar or to another seminar by following the instructions on the website. Someone from our office will confirm your date change after April 30, 2020.
The Ready to Retire Seminar scheduled on April 22, 2020 will be rescheduled for a future date. Someone from our office will contact you after April 30, 2020.
