SFERS understands that its members’ and beneficiaries’ right to privacy is a serious matter. This Privacy Statement reflects SFERS’ standards of disclosure and informed consent. To demonstrate our commitment to your privacy, we are disclosing our information practices.
SECURITY:
When a member enters sensitive information such as name, email address, Social Security number, or password into the website, the information is encrypted and protected.
COLLECTION AND USE OF INFORMATION:
Email addresses and cell phone numbers SFERS collects from its members on the SFERS website enable the member to access the mySFERS member portal. However, at no time is information collected without a member’s consent. SFERS is the sole owner of any personal information collected and does not sell, share, rent, or otherwise distribute any of this information.
EMAIL:
Email is not a secure platform. Information passed through email can be intercepted by third parties. For this reason, you should not communicate personal information (e.g., social security number or account information) via email.
LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES:
As a courtesy to our members and other users of this website, SFERS offers links to websites created and maintained by other parties. SFERS is not responsible for the material contained on any linked site or for the privacy or other practices of those sites. FILES:
SFERS may store Internet Provider (“IP”) addresses and user browser types for statistical and systems administration purposes only. These records are analyzed to determine user interest in the various areas of our site and to improve the value of the materials available on the website. The IP addresses we store are not linked to anything that can identify a user personally: a user’s session will be tracked, but the user will be anonymous.
