Employee Contribution Rates to Decrease by 1% Beginning in July

Published: June 30, 2022

Starting on July 1, 2022, City and County of San Francisco employees will see a 1% decrease in their contribution to the San Francisco Employees’ Retirement System (SFERS). This one percent decrease results from SFERS’ record-breaking financial performance from the previous fiscal year. In Fiscal Year 2021, the plan generated a return of 33.7% and fully funded the SFERS Trust for the first time since 2008.
