SFERS has been made aware of a phishing email that has been sent to some members. SFERS takes this seriously and wants all our members to know that this is a spam email and not a solicitation that is affiliated with either SFERS or the City’s Deferred Compensation Plan (SFDCP).
A company using the domain name “yourretiring.com” sent email to City work email addresses of some our members offering retirement counseling appointments. This email includes a link to a phishing website labeled as an “appointment center” that asks for a variety of personal and contact information. The link then schedules a group conference call to offer retirement options.
If you receive any such email, delete it. Do not open it or click on any links contained in the email.
The spamming company did not obtain email addresses from SFERS website, SFERS data systems, the SFDCP, or Voya, the SFDCP Third Party Administrator. The spammers used the City’s email address protocol, [email protected], which is public knowledge. SFERS has reported this to the City’s Department of Technology, and it placed this sender on its City-wide email blocked Senders List.
SFERS members should be aware that retirement counseling appointments are available to our members through the scheduler in your member portal at www.mysfers.org or by calling 415-487-7057. San Francisco Deferred Compensation Plan members, can schedule counseling appointments by contacting their department’s dedicated retirement counselor at https://voyamarketingzone.dmplocal.com/sites/4551/csf-welcome.html or by calling 1 (888) 733-2748.
SFERS is always available for questions. Please email us at [email protected]
