Planning pays! It’s never too late or too early to plan for retirement!
SFERS offers a series of retirement planning webinars aimed at helping you achieve your retirement financial goals. Each webinar is designed to assist in your decision-making process as you travel along your retirement planning journey. A brief description of each webinar is provided below.
The webinars are conveniently offered via MS Teams from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A schedule of dates is provided below. Registration is open for the Summer and Fall sessions. You may attend one or all sessions, but you must register for each session individually. To reserve your space, select the link at the end of the description for the webinar you wish to attend. Space is limited and advanced registration is required. There is no fee to attend the webinars.

Session IV – The Retirement Application
In this session we discuss the application process including the retirement counseling appointment, choosing your retirement date, estimating your final benefit, choosing a benefit payment option, taxes, lump-sum vacation payout to the SFDCP, and applying for retiree healthcare, Social Security benefits, and Medicare. Session V – After Retirement
Learn what happens after retirement such as your final benefit calculation, setting up direct deposit, working after Retirement, COLAs, and survivor benefits. Reserve your space here
