At the February 2, 2022 Special meeting, members of the Retirement Board elected Commissioner Ahsha Safai, and Commissioner Scott Heldfond to serve as President and Vice President, respectively.
This election replaces President Al Casciato whose term of office on the Retirement Board ends later this month. The new Board President and Vice President will serve the remainder of the standard Board Officer term through the June 2022 regular Board meeting.
Supervisor Ahsha Safai represents District 11, which includes the Excelsior, Ingleside, Outer Mission, Cayuga, Crocker Amazon, and Mission Terrace neighborhoods. He was elected to serve as President, in his second term on the Retirement Board as an appointee from the Board of Supervisors.
Scott Heldfond is the Director at Aon Risk Services (a Global Insurance Brokerage firm: NYSE:AON), and serves as an advisor to, or on the board of directors of several local, statewide, and national charitable and community service organizations. Commissioner Heldfond was appointed to the Retirement Board by Mayor London Breed in 2019.
